You are working in the dining room of The Righteous Inn and have been asked to keep an eye on a new employee who is undertaking a Traineeship and has been moved out of Housekeeping to do 13 weeks in the Food and Beverage department.

The Trainee started off in Front Office for 13 weeks then went to Housekeeping, and after a period with you they are off to the bars and then to the kitchen.

The trainee's first stop in the department is with you as a Runner - fetching and carrying the things you need to prepare your workstation for service and to support your service efforts during the session.

The person seems willing to work and eager to learn. After just two days they have impressed you quite a lot. However, you have decided there are a couple of hygiene issues you need to bring up with this person at your break just before the lunch session.

You have noticed they do not wash their hands immediately before they start work, have a habit of wiping their runny nose on the back of their hand and, while they start their shifts looking well presented, they allow their appearance to look progressively less so during the shift until they look quite dishevelled by the time guests depart.
