Question: Among the various choices that a writer makes, few are as important as that of intended audience. While works may well end up speaking to a wider audience than that which the author intended, it is nonetheless undeniable that a recognition and identification of the intended audience is critical to understanding why an author makes the choices of diction, of imagery, of allusion, etc., that he or she does.

Compare/contrast two works from this semester's readings that you have identified as having different intended audiences and, discuss how their respective writers appeal to these audiences in order to more effectively convey their messages. In so doing, identify specific passages and and examples that help support your thesis And in addition to referring to these two readings (at least) from the semester, make use of and properly cite/reference at least one outside work (i.e. something other than the assigned readings), as well.

Regarding the outside works, please note that I am less concerned with which outside works you make use of than I am with how effectively you make use of them. So don't just randomly pick anything and force it to fit. Instead, look at a number of possible sources and use the ones that fit best.
