2. A. Patriarchy and its modern manifestations - Incels, getting 'red-pilled', mens right activists, the 'quiet loner', and beyond. For this prompt, you must critically examine the role that patriarchy plays in American culture by focusing on the following: the rise of the incel, mens rights activists, slut-shaming, and mass shooter violence. What is modern patriarchy, and how is it linked to or producing these phenomenon? Hell, you can, even argue that patriarchy is not involved in these things (but, good luck on that). For this prompt, one of your sources must be bell hooks's essay, "Understanding Patriarchy".
