Organizational change demands that managers balance the need to improve current operations with the need to respond to new and unpredictable events. Organizations can be seen as open since they rely on continuous interaction with the environment around them. Organizations take energy from the environment in the form of money, raw materials and the labor from people, and turn these into a product or service which is returned to the environment.
