Assessment: Data Management in Social Business
Assessment Task:
Research and critically analyse the use of data management by Up! or one of the other subsidiaries of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank. Do not simply focus on the positives, nor on re-counting a narrative. Your analysis should include examination and evaluation of any successful or unsuccessful strategies.
You are to present your essay as a pre-recorded PechaKucha presentation. Accordingly, you will need to submit:
1. Your essay (which forms the script of your presentation), and
2. Your pre-recorded presentation - as either an uploaded .mp4 file (250MB max) or private YouTube/similar link included in the comment section of your submission.
Your assignment must address:
1. Objective(s) and strategies of data management by the organisation, [Context]
2. Technical provision of data management capabilities, [Infrastructure]
3. Assessment of the function of the organisation's data management systems [Application]
4. Critical assessment of the impact of the organisations's data management strategies. [Application]
Use each of these four tasks as the four headings in the body of your assignment. Each heading is equally weighted.
Presentation Format:
Your essay forms the guiding script for your PechaKucha. Accordingly, only minimal formatting of the essay is required. A template has been provided below.
PechaKucha 20x20s are a presentation format of a slide show of 20 images each auto-advancing after 20 seconds. As the official PechaKucha site notes, "It's non-stop and you've got 400 seconds to tell your story, with visuals guiding the way. PechaKucha was created in Japan in 2003 by renowned architects, Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham. The word "PechaKucha" is Japanese for "chit chat." " While you are welcome to include picture-only slides, you can also use 'PowerPoint Presentation-style' slides with key points on them. You can use PowerPoint, IA's Presenter, Google
Slides, Canva, Prezi, or whatever platform you would like. Just make sure you stay within the basic rules of 20 slides each auto-advancing after 20 seconds.
Ensure your assignment includes:
A cover slide (including your name, student number, unit and assessment task),
An introduction, A conclusion,
A slide containing a list of your references.
PechaKucha.com has loads of examples that you are welcome to use as inspiration.
