Having just taken over as Director of Business Development for Hotel de l'Etoile, and having both observed the situation and reviewed the available documents, what is your initial analysis of the situation?

From a distribution and revenue management perspective, where is the hotel performing well and where is it performing badly? What may be the underlying cause of this performance?

Have at least a two page report for the owner explaining your understanding of the distribution, revenue management and demand management issues facing the hotel.

Review criteria less You will be assessed by your peers based on 3 criteria.

Question 1. Understanding: How well you demonstrate that you have an understanding of the issues facing the hotel.

Question 2. Evidence: How well you support your arguments with quantitative evidence from the briefings and documents provided.

Question 3. Explanation: The clarity with which you explain and support your points and arguments. In particular can they be easily understood by someone (like the owner) with little technical knowledge of the subject area. Each issue will be assessed on a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being poor, and 5 being excellent.
