The purpose of this study was "to explore the perspectives of nurses about the characteristics of nurses that influence their role as patient advocates." (Dadzie, Aziato, Aikins, 2017.) This exploratory descriptive qualitative study included 15 nurses of different sexes, religions, marital statuses', etc. who took the proper approach when advocating for their patients or clients. In-depth interviews were recorded and transcribed to capture the complete picture of positive behavior and conversation's effects on these individuals. Through empathetic, nurturing, ethical, assertive, and persistent behavior this study proved that the healthcare worker's characteristics had a positive and lasting effect on these clients and helped them reach the best medical decision for each one personally.

In health care we can be overworked, and stressors can turn some into frustrated, fatigued workers. We need to remember why we got into this field in the first place, to help others. Advocating for our patients is one of the most essential roles in our careers, we need to be able to support and promote a healthy, suitable lifestyle in and out of the hospital or facility. The client, nurse, and environment were three key factors looked at to conduct the perfect interview and practice of this study. These interviews gained a lot, including, an "in-depth understanding of human behavior and the reasons that govern such behavior from the perspective of the participants and relies on narratives from participants to explore issues." (Dadzie, Aziato, Aikins, 2017.) Remember to always assist others with compassion, empathy, and unbiased listening ears
