The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your understanding of current industry trends in information technology. You are required to provide a concise report on the driving factors contributing to the selected trend's growth, with a short analytical review of the identified factors. You are then required to identify the potential benefits and risks of the technology within a particular socio-economic context

  1. Watch the Gartner video, Gartner Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends 2019, on new technology trends, provided in the Unit 1 notes.
  2. From the Gartner video, choose an emerging technology from the list.
  3. Using your own words, define your chosen technology
  4. Provide a detailed explanation of how three driving factors are contributing to the growth of your chosen technology.
  5. Describe one to three socio-economic challenges facing your immediate environment, place of origin, or place of interest, and describe it/them briefly.
  6. Discuss the potential benefits and risks of your chosen technology in addressing the challenges identified in the step above.
