Assignment

This assignment assesses your understanding of a part of the playwriting process through the direct experience of finding inspiration from a source that triggers your imagination and leads to an idea for a play.

Directions

For each of the following 2 sources, imagine a story that the source inspires. Then, in a paragraph or two, describe the play you could create from that story, addressing the following questions. What is the plot? Who are the characters? What theme or idea do you want to communicate? What is the genre?

Source 1 - An image you find online. Examples include photos or paintings of people, places, or things. Or an abstract image.

Source 2 - A newspaper or magazine story or headline.

Directions for formatting your submission.

For sources 1&2, include a link, or a document or media file along with the description of your play.

The completed assignment will include 2 descriptions of your conception of 2 unique plays.
