Essay -

One of the goals of this class is to better understand human-environment relationships in the context of global environmental change events. Consider, therefore, the various environmental philosophies we have discussed, explicitly in week 5, but implicitly throughout the course. We might consider each of these different philosophies as ways of understanding, or perhaps ways of structuring, the relationship between humans and the environment. For your essay, choose any particular environmental philosophy and evaluate its merits and/or deficiencies for making sense of global change-type events. The environmental philosophy that you choose may be one that you have encountered in this class or one that you have encountered outside this class, but your essay must connect to pertinent themes, topics, and examples from class materials and discussions.

As always, be sure to cite these applicable readings, lecture materials, and discussions. Your essay should be about 1,000 words in length.
