The Portfolio

Your Portfolio forms the basis for your Synthesis - it should tell the story of your personal and professional development through the module and provide evidence of your engagement with each Study Unit theme and exercises

At a minimum, your Portfolio should be a full collection of all your completed 4R Reflective Practice Templates - you must include at least one completed 4R template for each Study Unit

You are expected to address each of the 4Rs in the template with sufficient depth of reflection, demonstrating that you have engaged in the exercises and learnt from the readings and seminars

We invite you to be creative and include other evidence of your learning - for example, you may include results from tests you carried out using the UWE Career Development Tools, or add feedback received from a colleague or peer. Any documentation that you wish to include as evidence of your learning is welcome - but make sure you have also completed at least one 4R template for each Study Unit

The portfolio has no wordcount
In order for you to pass the assignment, the portfolio must be included as an Appendix to your Synthesis

The Synthesis
The Synthesis builds on your insights and observations in the Portfolio. The Synthesis is 2,500 (+/- 10%) words and should include the following elements -

Your learning journey and experience overall - a description from a bird's eye perspective of what you have observed about your own development during the module

Observations on your development as a reflective and reflexive practitioner specifically

Insights on how you have applied knowledge and skills with reference to Study Unit material and readings

Observations about changes in your behaviour and the impact of these changes on you and others in your immediate environment - these can include reflexive and ethical considerations

We recommend that you choose a selection of key points, evidenced in the portfolio, to illustrate and elaborate on certain developmental steps you have taken.

Your Synthesis should include references using the UWE Harvard Referencing system.
