Learning Objectives
Completing this training will equip you with skills and knowledge required to work as Electronics and communication technician .The placement provides skills and competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain electronic equipment and devices at component/sub-assembly level with options in communications, audio, video and TV, personal computer and networks, security and custom installations. It brings together the skills and knowledge covered in individual units and focuses on the way they must be applied in a Electonics workplace.

Section 1:
You will inspect and test the electronic machines and equipments and you will identify repair and faults required on these equipments.
• You will troubleshoot, repair and replace range of equipments including single phases input DC power supplies, digital sub systems, amlifiers the parts or circuits or wores to ensure that these faults are repaired.
• You will test the equipment if fault is repaired and fixed.
• You will re-assemble the machines and conduct final test.
• advising users of correct operating procedures to prevent malfunctions
• You are required to present these equipments to workplace supervisor and advise the faults repaired and standard operating procedures.
• You will also solve fundamental electronic communications system problems including radio communication systems including Applying knowledge of communication system and transmitting and receiving messages etc.
• You will require to install various electronic instruments e.g.install and configure a client computer operating system and softwares.
• You will apply the knowledge to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain electronic equipment and devices at component/sub-assembly level with options in communications, audio, video and TV, personal computer and networks, security and custom installations.
• You will demonstrate the knowledge of Radio Communications Systems,Optical Communications Principles,Modulation Concepts and Amplitude Modulation (AM),Analogue and digital signals,Combinational logic circuits,Digital subsystem building blocks,Sinusoidal alternating voltage and current,Inductance in a.c. circuits
• You will also apply Work Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices and environmentally and sustainable procedures during your work.

What are the costs of placements?
You will be required to pay for your own transport to and from electronic centre. You will be required to wear Personal protective equipment (PPE),safety shoes during placement.
