Case Study Report
Employees' Safety and Health in a Workplace
INSTRUCTIONS
Section 15 of the OSHA 1994 states that the duty of employer and self-employed persons to their employees is to ensure, so far as is practicable, the safety, health and welfare at work of all his employees. The purpose of this case study is give an exposure to the students about the importance of laws relating to safety and health in the workplace and help them understand on which channel that they can go to if an employee suffered an occupational injury or occupational disease.
1. Guidelines on report preparation
Sequences of the report materials are as follows: -
d) Cover page: -
• Students are required to use cover page template provided.
e) Contents of the report
• Student needs to review a video and prepare a minimum of three pages
(3) of report (exclude references) based on the reviewed video. Each section needs to be stated clearly and explained briefly.
f) References: -
• Students are required to use minimum three (3) sources from relevant sources from textbooks, journals, articles, magazines, newspapers etc. Use APA style of reference.
2. Contents of the Report
The report must include items stated below and each and every items must be clearly explained: -
• Introduction.
• SOCSO's major scheme (Employment Injury Scheme / Invalidity Scheme) that can be applied by those who are affected in this video.
• Benefit(s) from SOCSO than can be applied by those who are affected in this video.
• Person at fault (worker / management / company) from this video.
• Four (4) safety and health related duties that should be done by employer and employee in this video.
• Conclusion.
• References.
3. Format of the report
The report must be: -
• Computer typed with 1.5 spacing on A4 paper.
• Font type: Arial
• Font size: 11 • MINIMUM of 3 pages.
• APA referencing style.
