1. Reading and discussion from the book we got different types of strategies. One example of the difficulty in accessing medical data from a data feminist perspective is the lack of intersectional representation within datasets. For instance, if a dataset primarily includes medical information from affluent white communities, it fails to capture the diverse experiences and health outcomes of marginalized groups, such as people of color or those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. This not only perpetuates disparities in healthcare but also impedes efforts to understand and address health inequities. The approval for medicine is still needed for them to be approved for the market.

However, medicine or others related that are over the counter types do not need FDA to go through all the stages of testing and can slip right by to the stamp of approval. This was astounding to me as for someone who has worked in the pharma world because of that fact that now we are now finding out how taking large or even sometimes micro- doses of protein shakes, vitamins, and minerals can affect our daily lives without much thought. The fact that there are companies out there that use data for show for one test run and then that medicine goes straight to market is crazy.
