Assignment:

As a new Business Development Representative for a company with declining sales and low customer satisfaction, you have been tasked with creating a new business development and sales plan to increase market share and build brand loyalty.

You will first outline your role as a business development representative compared to a sales representative. Next, you will develop a plan for building a productive working relationship between the business development representatives and sales team. After establishing an internal structure, it is time for you to begin developing new business opportunities. Start by constructing strategies for identifying new markets. Identify a target market, create a customer profile, determine a target area, and establish target area geographic boundaries.

Two types of relationships exist, business-to-customer and business-to-business. You have been focused on business-to-customer and now it is time to plan business-to-business relationships. Identify and explain the strategies you will use to create long-term, sustainable relationships with business customers. Additionally, examine how you will use customer relationship management (CRM) software to help manage all current and potential customer and business relationships and improve your profitability.

It is time to present your findings. You will present your 'Business Development Plan' to the executive leadership team of the organization.
