Assignment:

Types of regeneration, epimorphosis, morphallaxis, stem-cell mediated, and compensatory. Often, these four methods of regeneration are used together to complete the task of regeneration. For this assignment, pick one of the following regeneration models:

1) Total body regeneration in plants,

2) Body regrowth in the flatworm,

3) Limb regrowth in the salamander,

4) Heart regrowth in zebrafish. For your chosen model, define and explain which types of regrowth is being used, and how they work to complete the regeneration. Be sure to include what genes are involved and explain how the regeneration is similar to the original developmental pathway.
