1. One way of encouraging a culture of innovation is Idea Time - 'provide time to think, explore and investigate'.

Explain why this particular pathway to innovation can be a substantial barrier for educators in a children's education and care service.

2. Lesaux and Jones suggest that innovation in children's services is not about invention, but rather about meaningful change - i.e., to make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products.

Explain how this statement reflects the customer focus (customer convenience, experience, needs) innovation objectives as outlined by Stacy (think about the outcomes that might occur).

3. Consider the innovation objectives as described by Stacy and the examples described in the 14 Types of Innovation Objectives. Suggest one value/benefit to stakeholders (management, educators, children, families, community) when children's education and care services commit to innovation.

4. Innovation can only occur where there is a collective willingness to embrace creative thinking, suspend judgement and trial ideas".
