Objectives

2. Recognize the major limitations with crime and victimization data Instructions 1. View and explore a local, interactive crime map (if you do not want to find your own, use one of the map links below) 2. Identify one specific type of crime found on the map
3. Find where that crime is most likely to be committed, and describe the area.
4. Explain what information this map provides (locations, crimes, etc.), but also identify limitations with the map (what information is missing from the map?)
5. Based on your findings, determine two policy implication that might help limit, deter, or prevent crime in the area, or assist victims of crime. Remember, your policy implications need to be legal, ethical/moral, cost-effective, result-yielding, and utilitarian.
