This quote, along with a book that I recently finished (One Second After, by William R. Forstchen) inspired my curiosity for what you all might post for this week's discussion prompt. The book' plot develops around the fact that the U.S. has been hit by several EMP (electromagnetic pulse) blasts and although there is no nuclear fallout, anything that relied on electricity is immediately rendered useless (every modern electrical device is disabled) and our entire way of life breaks down in a matter of days. Among the most hardest hit are the medical facilities and pharmacies.
