Assignment:

A/B testing is a UX research method that involves users using two different versions of a project. This is supposed to give some insight on which version users on a larger scale prefer. I would use this type of research method for a mobile social media app. I think it's an effective way to test out new designs since this type of app have so many users to account for and need to maximize usage time on the app. I would observe which version of the app during A/B testing that gets more usage.

In the end, I would pick the one that gets used by the users more as the final design. The method improves the user experience because it gives quantitative data on which one users may prefer more, thus having a more positive experience on the app. This reduces the influence of recency bias when introducing a new design that people might use more just because it's new.
