The following questions are about Type I and Type II errors. For each question discuss the relative costs of making each type of error.

Give your opinion about the relative costs of these errors when the data being protected are sensitive medical information.

c. A sober person fails a blood alcohol test. What type of error has been committed and what are the costs of this error? Would you prefer that police were more likely to make Type I or II errors in this situation.
d. Describe the relative costs of Type I and II errors related to a medical test developed to detect infection. Does your evaluation of the relative costs change if 1) you are the person receiving the test, and 2) if you were in charge of containing medical testing costs?
