Two patients suffering from hypokalemia, a condition that causes hyperpolarization of the RMP in which the RMP becomes more negative. Both patients received an equal concentration of KCl-, potassium chloride solution, intravenously to balance their electrolytes back to normal levels. The first patient, patient A, received the intravenous KCl- solution over a prescribed four-hour period. The second patient, patient B, received the same KCl- solution by error over one hour. The following figures depict the ECG collected from each patient.
