Two examples of healthy, self-care behaviors I practice to promote wellness and resilience as a nurse is regular exercise. On my days off, I like to go hiking with my friends. I also like to go to the beach or the park to ride my bike. I prioritize exercise because it is a way to stay healthy while spending time with friends. Exercise gives me the energy to start my day and take care of others. Another way I take care of my mental health is by spending time with my family, I do not get to see them every day, so every chance I get I travel to see them. My family is important to me and being away from them is hard, so when I see them, they are good for my mental health and help me manage stress making it easier to handle the emotional toll that nursing often brings.
