Question: Two automatic dispensing machines are being considered for use in a fast-food chain. The first dispenses an amount of liquid that has a normal distribution with a mean of 11.9 ounces and a standard deviation of 0.07 ounces. The second dispenses an amount of liquid that has a normal distribution with a mean of 12.0 ounces and a standard deviation of 0.05 ounces. Acceptable amounts of dispensed liquid are between 11.9 and 12.0 ounces. Calculate the relevant probabilities and determine which machine should be selected. Note: Show all the steps.
