Jeff presents to treatment as a 22 y/o Caucasian male diagnosed with amphetamine use disorder severe, cannabis use disorder severe, and opioid use disorder moderate. Jeff reports growing up in an affluent family. He had access to money and resources and always feels supported by his parents. He was gifted at sports but excelled past most of his peers. Per self report he was always encouraged by his parents to be better and to never be second place. He earned a division 1 full scholarship to the university of his choice. He excelled and was being scouted for the pros. He unfortunately sustained a sports career ending injury. He reports he has never felt the same since and his parents seem to have distanced themselves from him even though they seem supportive. He feels like he disappointed them. • Jeff attends group sessions and 1:1 sessions but has behavioral issues. He is often disruptive keeping the groups superficial. He presents as entitled, knowing everything and expects others to do for him. He has a base knowledge of addiction and recovery but seems to be minimally willing to apply the concepts to himself.
