Draw a cell with 0.02mM fructose inside and 0.5mM fructose outside. Use what you know about control of transport across membranes to propose multiple ways that the cell can keep the intracellular concentration of fructose from increasing. (Interesting fact: You have many glucose transporters. Most glucose transporters are specific for glucose. A couple of transporters can transport glucose or fructose. If you eat a lot of sugar, your cells make more of the fructose transporting version. Some people have severe bloating, diarrhea, and gas when they eat sugar, and this appears to be because something about transporters in their intestinal cell membranes differs from people who don't get these symptoms.)
