The transmission of Genetic information from one generation to the next (with a high degree of fidelity and accuracy) is paramount and critical to the propitiation/fitness of our species as human beings. DNA has evolved over the course of time to meet this physiological and molecular demand by developing specific mechanisms to repair mutations when it's bases/nucleic acids when they are not paired correctly. The bases or nucleotides that make up DNA are commonly known as: Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Cytosine (C) and Guanine (G) respectively.

In words please describe and discuss (in depthly) a method in which DNA repairs itself such as: Base Excision Repair, Double Strand Break, Nucleotide Excision Repair, etc.
