Question: One of the hallmarks of the Jacksonian Era was the transformation of politics in the direction of greater democracy. By the end of the 1820s property qualifications for voting had been eliminated in most states and more people were voting than ever before. As a result, politics become more popular and arguably more crude.At the same time, innovations in printing made cheap reading materials available, and Americans of all classes became avid consumers of news. To attract voters political parties become more organized and began to market candidates through propaganda and spectacle.
