Experiential Exercise: Tracking the Mind-Body Distinction

This exercise asks you to make four lists reflecting on your daily experience over the course of a week.

After completing these lists, write a brief reflection (one page maximum) that summarizes your experience keeping the lists. This reflection is open-ended, but should include the following:

- Did you notice anything different from completing the exercise?

- What was difficult about the exercise, if anything?

- Make at least one connection with the reading.(Five dialogue of Plato, p.70-78, p.101-107)

List One: Body:

List as many daily activities as you can that are primarily focused on your body.

List Two: Mind:

List as many daily activities as you can that are primarily focused on your mind.

List Three: Body-Mind:

List as many activities as you can that involve both mind and body together in interaction

List Four: Wu-wei:

After watching the video on wu-wei and doing the reading from the Zhuangzi, see if you can list any activities or events in which you have experienced something like "effortless action".
