Sally is a waitress at a local restaurant that also has a bar with a happy hour special that is popular with locals and tourists in the busy summer season. Alan is the business manager of daily operations for the owner, Stewart. Sally has been a loyal and hardworking worker for the last 3 years and she appreciates the income while going to school. The owner Stewart has noticed a recent drop in receipts at the restaurant and the even greater drop during off-peak months in the winter and spring. He calls in Alan and asks him to come up with a strategy to increase income or cut labor costs. Alan likes the staff he has and does not want to go through the seasonal headaches of retraining new hires when summer comes and so recommends not cutting present staff members. Alan then comes up with an idea of enhancing happy hour during off-peak seasons with large screen televisions and NFL game night specials. He also changes the waitress uniforms to short shorts and tank tops. Sales show a dramatic increase at the bar concession and game night is a hit especially with the reduced beer prices.
