March and April of 2020 saw unprecedented challenges facing the hospitality industry and its sub-sectors. The introduction of strategies to flatten the COVID- 19 curve such as lockdowns, restricted movement orders, quarantines, stay at home orders as well as other travel restrictions led to either the closing down of businesses (permanent or temporary) or drastically reduced operations. Restaurant operations for example, were limited to only take outs with the barring of dine-in options. The restrictions on travel lead to a sharp decline in hotel occupancies, resulting in drops in hotel revenues. These changes have, inevitably, had effects on people management in these industries.

As an industry practitioner, suggest FOUR (4) people management strategies that may be adopted by tourism and hospitality organisations to mitigate some of the fallouts expected from the COVID-19 situation. Provide justifications for your suggestions.
