There is a meter stick with a mass of 0.0815 kg. It has an initial center of mass at 0.51 m from the right. Then an object is placed on the right with a mass of 0.094 kg at position 0.073 m from the right. The new pivot point where the meter stick is balancing is now 0.275 m from the right. This means the distance between new pivot point and object is 0.202 m. The torque found for it was .202 * .094 * 9.81 = 0.19Nm. This is Torque 1. My question is what is the Torque 2 on this? If there is 0.19 Nm torque on the right side, how do you find the torque for the left side? Do you use ruler mass or what do you do? What is the theoretical torque here versus the experimental torque?
