Since it is fall, the days are getting shorter so I started running indoors on an elliptical machine. It has a readout that states the number of RPMs of its internal flywheel and how many Watts I am generating while exercising. Typically I can put out an average of 350 W for 20 minutes while the flywheel rotates at 120 cycles per minute. Compute the torque generated by my legs while using the elliptical machine.

1. Calculate the torque applied by my efforts

2. Calculate the total work done through a 20 minute workout

Could this method result in the liquefaction of air : Air expands adiabatically (no heat in, no heat out) from T = 300 K and P = 100 atm to a final pressure of 1 atm. Treat the gas as ideal with Cp/Cv = 1.4, and decide the final temperature. Compare your result to the boiling points of oxygen (90.2 K) a..
Stagnant air over a surface typically decreases the pressure : Movement of stagnant air over a surface typically decreases the pressure that air exerts on the surface it was in contact with, and higher air velocities usually result in more important pressure drops.
