Background: In the first unit, we focused our attention on the components of a good story and movie adaptations. In this unit, we will shift our lens on poetry and the role of the poet. The authors in this unit use their platform to raise awareness on social ills, morality and social justice.
We have studied the texts in class; we have written short responses and practiced paraphrasing. And we have read and analyzed what others have highlighted about these poems.

Task:
We are writing an essay about someone else's reading of one of the poems from our class readings. To what extent do you agree with the literary analysis (interpretation) presented in the article? Use the template we worked on in class to help you write your paper.
Minimum Requirements:
The essay contains a thesis statement that gives the readers a clear idea of what you are critiquing.
The essay contains a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
The essay supports your argument with appropriate quotes and paraphrases the author's ideas.
