Chapter 8 addresses new employee orientation. After reading about new employee orientation best practices, reflect on your own new employee orientation experiences and discuss the degree of effectiveness (or lack thereof). If you have not attended a new employee orientation before, you are permitted to reflect upon an orientation experience with a college or university. If you have not experienced any type of orientation program with an employer or college before, you are welcome to write about any other type of orientation in which you have participated. B. Thinking of yourself serving in the role of appraiser, which which two types of rater error are you most likely to commit? Explain your rationale. Does your organization (past or present) practice performance appraisal AND performance management, or just performance appraisal? If both, how so? If not, what roadblocks are present?
