Assignment:

In Chapter of Thinking Like a Psychological Scientist, the author states, "A lot of people are uncomfortable with numbers... When arguments involve numbers, such people may either accept the argument or tune out." Likewise, religious people are sometimes intimidated when their faith is challenged by "statistical data" or "scientific proof." In an original post of no less than 200 words, discuss the following: What do you do when a new "scientific study" challenges your beliefs (religious, political, or otherwise)? Do you dismiss it, tune out, change your mind, or critically evaluate the claims? Give an example of a time this happened to you and how you responded. If you haven't had this experience, take a few moments to do a Google search for some new discovery that seems questionable to you.
