Blooms Taxonomy is a thinking system that can be used for any level of learning. According to The Glossary of Education Reform (2014), "Bloom's taxonomy is a classification system used to define and distinguish different levels of human cognition-i.e., thinking, learning, and understanding" (The Glossary of Education Reform, 2014, para. 1). When taxonomy was first used, it was broken down by cognition, how affect something is, and psychomotor. Using taxonomy can change how now think, sees, or engage with a particular subject. When it comes to healthcare, using taxonomy can have both pros, and cons. Three pros of using taxonomy when learning about healthcare are there would be more accurate medical diagnoses, medical errors will be less likely, and patient care will be tailored.
On the other hand, two cons of using taxonomy when learning about healthcare are going through the steps of taxonomy could cause a delay in treat for the patient, and patient will no longer be involved in the care they receive.
Bloom's taxonomy model was first introduced to me in high school. it was used to help guide the thinking and analyzing process. That is the only model I have used throughout my schooling.
