Refer to Appendix D, page 387 and/or the Business Writer's Handbook (BWH), page 340, for the correct format. Do not include a letterhead. · Create an appropriate subject line that reflects the content of your memo. · Use one-inch margins and size-11 or 12, serif-type fonts (Times New Roman, Palatino, etc.) · Do not left indent; do not right justify your margin; leave 1 blank line between paragraphs. · Spell check and proof-read your work carefully (try reading aloud to yourself). Failure to spell-check is an automatic zero score on all assignments! · Length: 1 page. Write to impress! First impressions have a powerful impact-this is true in writing as well as in face-to-face contacts. Organize your ideas logically. Use simple, clear, direct language and provide concrete details.
