For this assignment, I would like you to write the story of your attaining your dream job. First, of course, you will have to determine what your dream job might be. Next, you will have to conceive of your attaining this dream job as a story. This means you will have to employ the literary elements we have discussed throughout the term in writing this story-character, point of view, voice, and most importantly, the elements of plot-exposition, flashback, complication, conflict, and resolution. So, in other words, what will the reader need to know at the beginning of your story, what conflicts might arise in your attaining your dream job, and how might these conflicts be resolved? What kind of character will you draw yourself as, and what about the other characters you introduce in the story-friends, family, co-workers? Which of these characters will you decide to portray as flat, which as dynamic? Finally, from what point of view will you tell the story-first, second, or third? It might seem natural to tell it from the first-person point of view, but it might be more interesting to tell it from the third-person. Throughout the term, we have analyzed how other writers have made these decisions, now we will see how you do it.
