I want to reflect on what the chapter readings make feel. Think about how the material applies own life. Want to take notes while read each chapter in the future. Also answer some of the questions found in the chapter or one of the activities. The only guideline is that compose two detailed paragraphs and include at least one direct quote from the chapter. Quotation marks and then what page it is from. Example: "Quote" (p.10).
Here are some sample questions want to address, how structure journal entries:
1. Do you see choosing a career as a developmental process or do you see it as making a choice and sticking by it?
2. What meaning have you found in the work you've done so far? Has work been a means of self-expression for you?
3. How important do you think it is for you to feel a sense of pride in the work you do? Have you felt valued in your work?
4. Discuss what you get or expect to get from work. What might your life be like if you weren't able to work? How do you imagine life would be if you were retired?
5. Do you see any way to incorporate your interests and hobbies into your career or vocation?
6. Do you think that you've been pressured to choose a vocation too soon? Where have these pressures come from? Discuss some of the dangers of choosing an occupation too soon.
7. In choosing a job, which would be more important to you: security or the opportunity for self-expression?
8. Do you believe that you can choose your attitude toward work and thus change the meaning it has for you?
9. What can you do to prepare for retirement? How can you continue living and feeling a sense of productivity even though you may eventually retire?
10. Discuss the concept of your college education as your work. To what degree do you think your level of satisfaction of your work will parallel your level of satisfaction as a student? Do you think that the kind of student you are will also have some influence on the kind of worker you are likely to become?
