Let's say that you are the HR manager at an organization that has a 90 day probation policy in place. Basically, your 90 day policy states that you can terminate employment with an individual for any reason, and that you do not have to disclose what that reason is. Let's say John is on his 50th day of employment, and while he is extremely productive in the sales department (currently, he is the top performer), his team does not like him and they have claimed that he does not "fit in". They have cited his extremely aggressive nature, his lack of willingness to go the extra mile, and his cultural differences that are somewhat inconvenient for them. Do you fire him? Do you fire John, who is currently the top performer in sales, because his entire team does not like him?
