In the area of strategy implementation, there are many dimensions that are impacted by how, when, and where MIS systems are deployed and used within an organization. The following concept map implies relationships among the constructs of Decentralization, Outsourcing, and Globalization:

These distinct constructs are often confused and confounded. They mean very different things, and differ in their implementations significantly. The ways we would use MIS system to plan and control could be very different based on how our organization is approaching these three constructs.

To assure that we are using these terms correctly, please submit a brief written discussion (3-4 pages) that compares and contrasts these three constructs. Discuss the implications of their various combinations for how an organization would implement and use MIS technology. Focus on the ways these systems would impact the organization overall and NOT on the specific IT technologies that might be used in the various implementation. In essence, how should we think about these concepts as industrial engineers?
