Suppose one side of a pine wood block with thickness of 10 inch is in contact with a steam block at a temperature of 2200? and the other side of the block is at 380?. Calculate the heat transfer per hour. Use the relation for heat transfer Q= kA (T2- T1)/Δx where k is the thermal conductivity, T is the temperature in ?, and Δx is the thickness of the block. Assume thermal conductivity for the pine wood block is 0.81 Btu ft/hr ft2 ?.
