A contact feedwater heater operates on the principle of mixing steam and water. Steam enters the heater at 100 psia and 98% quality. water enters the heater at 100 psia and 80 F. As a result, 25,000 lb/hr of water at 95 psia and 290 F leaves the heater. There is no heat transfer between the heater and the surroundings. Evaluate each term in the general entropy balance for the second law of thermodynamics.
