Cris Cerebrale - CNS Diseases Case Study Ischaemic stroke affects a growing number of people each year and is expected to continue to rise as our population ages. As ischaemic stroke frequently results in significant morbidity and mortality there remains a need to find ways to treat stroke injury. Despite extensive understanding of the mechanisms involved in cellular death following ischaemic injury there are still few therapeutic strategies available clinically.
