Assessment Task
Assessment in this course is concerned with your ability to synthesise and present knowledge of various aspects of performance management.
You are required to complete three (3) assessment tasks to demonstrate your learning and your ability to apply your learning into the practice.
Assessment Task One: Theory in application Presentation
Presentation duration: 15 minutes presentation through PowerPoint with a voiceover, and 500 word document outlining group processes/delegation
Task:
Being given a topic, each group will present one or two real-life case studies and use practical examples, to reflect and apply the knowledge and theories learned from this course. The focus of the presentation is to explain how to apply the theory into the real-life practice on different aspects/components of performance management. The presentation should be brief, reflective, and critical and supported by evidence.
The PowerPoint slides and 500 word document must be submitted via email to the tutor on the week the chosen topic is presented.
Presentation criteria:
• Clear demonstration of understanding of the theories;
• Ability to synthesise and critical analyse the relevant theories;
• Ability to apply the practical examples or real-life case studies to support the analysis;
• Ability to integrate academic references, models and theories into presentation;
• Professional standard of presentation and time management skills
Assessment Task Two Individual Essay
As evident in the literature, and as discussed in this course, there are many significant challenges faced by organisations to achieve effective human performance management. Choose two or three of such challenges that you feel are important and relevant to today's organisations. Discuss these challenges and what managers and human resource (HR) practitioners need to do in order to deal with them. Include relevant underlying theories to support your arguments.

Assessment Task Three Case Study
Task 3 Case Study must be submitted online through the BUSM1228 course information link in Canvas. When you submit the written report it will be automatically processed through Turnitin as part of the on-line submission process. All marking staff will comment on what you have done well in this report and what you need to improve based on the following assessment criteria:
• Key issues relating to the case study questions have been developed
• Original and clear argument;
• Logical and convincing discussion
• Ideas and assertions substantiated through use of high quality reference material and key academic perspectives/views used to develop arguments
• Number and quality of references, appropriate RMIT business referencing format
• Clear and comprehensive written style (essay structure, spelling, grammar, syntax etc.)
