As managers we are asked to lead, mentor and motivate our employees. In order to motivate employees we need to understand various motivation theories and the science behind motivation. Explain how goal setting motivates an individual". I'm looking for the four motivational mechanisms. In addition, in your own words tell me how goal setting would help to motivate you.
