The use of temporary employees during holiday seasons or times of higher volume of customer orders for companies like amazon and other retail/service-based companies is something that is very important for them to service the customers and ensure that they are meeting their deliverables. The downside to the temporary employee times is that employees are normally given access to customer information or company information. This could pose a security risk. To help alleviate this risk, before a temporary employee makes it to the specified job and with under a manager, the onboarding process should include some security-based training around handling customer information. Once an employee is under a manager, the manager can help reduce the risk of a security breach from a temporary employee by making sure the employee only has access to information needed to fulfill that temporary position. Managers can show leadership in the area of cybersecurity and best practices by leading from example. Ensuring that they are up to date with all cyber security training and following all the steps to ensure that data is not compromised.
