Water is heated in an insulated chamber by combining it with steam. The water enters at a steady rate of 100 kg/min at 300 C, 300 kPa. The steam enters at 320 C, 300 kPa, and the mixture leaves the chamber at 90 C, 300 kPa.

Determine:

a) the rate of steam needed, in kg/min.

b) the exit velocity in m/s if the exit area is 25 cm.
