This paper should represent a position that you are taking on a controversial historical topic in western civilization from 1300 to 1815. Select a controversial topic of your choice and define the time period, the people, and most importantly your position. Your grade will depend on how well you make your argument with the evidence that you site. While your personal knowledge may be extensive you must support any statement of fact with a source. I do not want a comprehensive narrative of a historical time period or event. You cannot use the topics from the Taking Sides text.

  1. The review must be between six to ten pages in length (not counting the title page, the abstract, and the bibliography), double-spaced, margins no more than one inch, and using Times New Roman 12 point font.
